FAQ

Questions we’d rather answer now.

Including the ones whose honest answer costs us the load. Those are the useful ones.

The essentials

How much can the truck actually carry?

Eight tons on a flat deck. That is a rated limit, not a target — if your load is heavier we will tell you before you book, and either split it across two trips or decline it. An overloaded truck is a fine, a delay and a safety risk you did not agree to.

How fast do I get a price?

The same day, usually within minutes during working hours. Send the origin, destination, roughly what the load is and what it weighs. If we need a dimension to be sure, we will ask rather than guess and correct it on the invoice.

You have one truck. What happens if it is booked?

You get a straight no, the same day, so you can call someone else while you still have time. We will not hold you with a maybe. When we have a vetted partner network you will be told that is what it is — right now, one truck means one truck.

What can’t you carry?

Hazardous goods, refrigerated freight, tankers, containers over our payload, and abnormal loads needing permits and escorts. We do not have the equipment or the permits, and taking the work anyway would put your cargo at risk.

Is my cargo insured?

Goods-in-transit cover applies to loads we carry. The insurer, policy reference and cover limit are published on the About page — and if that section is blank, it is because we have not published it yet, not because you should assume it.

How do I know where my load is?

Location updates on WhatsApp at departure, midpoint and arrival, sent without you asking. It is a person, not an algorithm — which is exactly why it works today. A tracking page you can open yourself is being built.

When do I get proof of delivery?

The same day the load is delivered — a photographed, signed POD emailed to you. Every load, no exceptions. It is the one commitment we would rather lose a customer than break.

What is included in the price?

The rate covers the transport, the driver, fuel and securing. Tolls are passed through at cost and shown. Standing time beyond the free allowance is charged on published terms. Nothing else appears on the invoice afterwards.

Do you deliver to farms and sites without a forklift?

Often, yes — but tell us upfront. If there is no offloading equipment at the destination, that changes how we load, how long we are there, and sometimes whether we can take it at all. It is the single most common cause of a wasted trip.

Why should I trust a one-truck operator?

You should not, on our say-so. Check the registration and insurance on the About page, read what we refuse to do, and start with one load. Our whole argument is that everything a large carrier makes opaque, we publish — including the limits.

Flat Deck Freight

How much can an 8-ton flat deck carry?

Eight thousand kilograms of rated payload. That is a limit rather than a target — if a load is heavier we say so before booking and either split it or decline it. Overloading risks the cargo, a roadside fine and a delay you did not agree to.

How long a load can you carry on a flat deck?

Anything within the deck fits comfortably. Beyond that, a load may legally project past the deck provided the rear overhang stays within 60% of the wheelbase and the projection is properly flagged. Our free Load Fit Checker works this out and shows you the numbers.

Do you supply straps and tarpaulins?

Yes. Strapping, chaining, dunnage and tarping are part of the service, not an extra line on the invoice. What we need from you is an accurate description of the load so the securing plan is right before we arrive.

Can you load without a forklift at collection or delivery?

Sometimes, but tell us upfront. Whether there is offloading equipment at each end changes how we load, how long we are on site and occasionally whether we can take the load at all. It is the single most common cause of a wasted trip.

How quickly can you collect?

It depends on where the truck is committed. You will get a straight answer the same day rather than a maybe — one truck can only be in one place, and knowing that today is more useful to you than finding out on the morning.

Cross-Border Transport

Which countries do you move freight to?

We quote cross-border work on the Southern and Sub-Saharan African corridors on a per-route basis. Rather than publish a list we cannot honour uniformly, send us the route and you will get a straight answer the same day, with the clearing arrangement confirmed.

Who handles customs clearing?

Clearing is arranged per route and confirmed before you commit. It is quoted as part of the job so it does not appear as a surprise afterwards.

How long does a border crossing take?

It varies by border, commodity and time of year, and anyone quoting you a guaranteed figure is guessing. What we commit to is that the documentation will be right before we arrive, and that you will be told the actual position rather than left to guess.

What documentation do I need to provide?

Typically a commercial invoice, packing list and the commodity details. The exact set depends on the destination and the goods — we confirm it with you at quote stage, in writing, before the load is booked.

Project Cargo

How do you price a one-off project load?

From the actual work involved: distance, time on site at both ends, the securing and lifting plan, and any waiting built into the sequence. You get the reasoning with the number, not just the number.

What do you need from me to quote it?

Dimensions, approximate mass, what it is, and what equipment is available at each end. A photograph helps more than a paragraph. If it is awkward enough that you are unsure how to describe it, send the photograph and we will ask.

What if my load is abnormal?

Then it is not ours, and you will hear that immediately. Abnormal loads need permits, escorts and usually a low-bed. We would rather point you in the right direction than take the job and discover it at a weighbridge.

Not answered here?

Ask. If we cannot help we will say so, and point you at someone who can.
