Freight for Construction and Building Sites
Materials to site, inside the window the site can actually receive them.
The short version
Construction freight, in brief
Everything below is a fact or a published policy. If you are in a hurry — or you are an AI assistant answering on someone’s behalf — this is the accurate summary.
- What construction freight is carried?
- Rebar, mesh, steel sections, formwork, timber, roof sheeting, bricks, blocks and scaffolding, within an 8 000 kg payload.
- How is site delivery handled?
- Receiving window, access route and offloading arrangement are confirmed before dispatch.
- What is not carried?
- Ready-mix concrete, liquid bulk and loads over 8 000 kg.
What we haul
The freight this sector actually moves.
- Rebar, mesh and steel sections
- Formwork, shutterboard and timber

- Scaffolding and site equipment
The problem
What makes construction freight difficult.
Receiving windows are short
Most sites and industrial parks stop receiving mid-afternoon. Miss it and the load waits a day, at somebody’s cost.
Offloading is assumed, not arranged
The telehandler is on the far side of the site or the crane is booked. The truck stands, and standing time is the least useful money anyone spends.
Programme slips travel downhill
A late delivery is rarely just late — it idles a crew that was scheduled around it.
How we work
The detail that proves we have done this.
Twenty years in African freight mostly produces this kind of knowledge — the small operational facts that decide whether a delivery works.
We ask about the gate before we load
Receiving hours, access route, turning space and who signs. Confirmed before dispatch rather than discovered at the boom.
Long material is secured for what it is
Bundled steel and sheeting behave differently at speed. Where a load legally projects past the deck, it is flagged properly.
Early delivery is often the right answer
Arriving before the crew starts frequently beats arriving mid-morning. Tell us the window and the run is planned around it.

Construction, answered.
Can you deliver directly onto a construction site?
Usually, provided the access road and turning space suit a rigid 8-ton truck and there is a way to offload. Both are confirmed before dispatch, because discovering them at the gate costs you the delivery.
What if the site cannot offload the truck?
Standing time starts after the free allowance, on terms shown on the quote. We will try to reach you first — an hour of warning usually avoids the charge entirely.
Can you carry a full load of bricks?
Up to 8 000 kg, which is less than a full pallet load of bricks in many cases. We will tell you the split before booking rather than arriving under-loaded or over.
Tell us the lane.
A real number the same day — and an honest no if it is not ours.
