Our position in POPIA terms
River Express Trading is a responsible party in respect of the personal information you provide when requesting a quote or contacting us.
Lawful basis
We process your information because it is necessary to conclude and perform a contract with you — namely, to quote and move your freight. We do not rely on consent for that processing, which means we also cannot use it for anything else without asking you separately.
The eight conditions, in practice
- Accountability — the owner is accountable for this processing.
- Processing limitation — we collect the minimum needed to quote and carry a load.
- Purpose specification — quoting, carrying and contacting you about your freight.
- Further processing limitation — we do not repurpose your data for marketing.
- Information quality — tell us if something is wrong and we will correct it.
- Openness — this page and the privacy notice exist for that reason.
- Security safeguards — no database on this site, encrypted transmission, access limited to the people who move your load.

- Ask us to correct or delete it
- Object to processing
- Complain to the Information Regulator

Cross-border transfers
Where a load crosses a border, the information necessary for customs clearance is shared with the clearing agent for that route. You are told which route and which arrangement at quote stage.
