Terms of carriage

The terms we carry freight on.

Written to be read. Where a term protects us at your expense, it says so plainly rather than hiding in a clause.

Pre-launch note: these terms are a plain-English summary of how we operate. They must be reviewed by a South African attorney before launch and are marked in the launch checklist accordingly.

1. Quotes

A quote is valid for the period stated on it and is based on the load information you supply. If the load differs materially from that description — mass, dimensions, access or offloading arrangements — the rate may change, and we will tell you before we move it rather than adjust the invoice afterwards.

2. Booking

A booking is confirmed when we confirm it in writing, including by WhatsApp. We operate a single vehicle; if we cannot meet your date we will tell you the same day rather than hold the booking open.

3. Payload and legal limits

Our rated payload is 8 000 kg and it is not exceeded under any circumstances. We will decline or split a load rather than overload the vehicle. Loads must comply with South African legal limits on width, height and overhang.

4. What we will not carry

Hazardous and dangerous goods requiring a DG permit
Refrigerated or temperature-controlled freight
Liquid bulk and tanker freight
Abnormal loads requiring permits and escorts
Anything unlawful, and anything materially misdescribed to us

5. Collection, delivery and standing time

A free loading and offloading allowance is stated on every quote. Standing time beyond it is charged at the rate printed on that same quote. Where a site cannot receive or offload the vehicle, we will attempt to contact you before standing time begins.

6. Charges

The quoted rate is the invoiced rate. Tolls are passed through at cost and itemised. No administration fee, documentation fee or fuel surcharge is added after the fact.

7. Liability and insurance

Goods-in-transit cover applies to loads we carry, to the limit published on our About page. Cover does not extend to inherent vice, inadequate packaging by the sender, or misdescribed goods. Claims are handled under the process published on our claims page.

8. Proof of delivery

A photographed, signed proof of delivery is issued on the day of delivery for every load. Damage or shortage should be noted on the POD at the point of delivery wherever possible.

9. Cancellation

Cancel before the vehicle is dispatched and there is no charge. Once dispatched, costs already incurred are payable. We will always tell you what those are before charging them.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
